BUSM HM6 lettering before and after ..

gordond

for Steve...

before and after lettering..

[using magnifying goggles]..the lettering was engraved and reshaped with a dremel - carbide tip

ie/. recut "the holes in the "o"s and the "d"s.

then the top of the lettering was sanded or filed flat...

any holes were filled with Pratley's 2 part steel putty....fortunately not too much..I wasn't keen to braze or lead fill these [cast iron and heat issues]

Well done, looks really nice. Im hoping to get some time to work on my 97s too. Im attempting to get a complete collection of all the Pearson no 6 machines, so far I have the British, the British made for Canada, British made for Australia, Pearson and Bennion, German and French machines, ie 6 different machines is total.... do you know of any others? regards Steve

hi Steve...

thanks!..the 97 do-over had been on the overdue list for awhile.it will take sometime to complete the missing parts on this machine..the aim first will be to get it to a ready to use state.I am going to build a new stand with a heavy lower flywheel [to up the torque/punching power].

haven't seen here any specific no.6's made for New Zealand or elsewhere..have wondered if there were any made for South Africa ,India or Asia?

cheers Gordon
