Members MonicaJacobson Posted October 23, 2013 Report Beautiful! I love Art Nouveau patterns on leather. Are you using oil paints? Quote
Members lcmattson Posted October 23, 2013 Report Ah, no. Acrylics. Oils don't work on veg-tan leathers as far as I've known it. Quote
Members Leatherbutt Posted October 23, 2013 Report Lovely. Hard to believe it is your first attempt. Very well done. I am curious as to what brand of paint you used in the tooling. It appears very metallic and that is exactly the look I am going for in a project I am working on. Tried silver leaf and became frustrated very quickly. Perhaps paint is the way to go. Quote
Members lcmattson Posted October 23, 2013 Report Haha, if you get up close and personal with it, my lack of experience shows. I used Eco-Flow's Cova Color: Gold. I get it from the Tandy shop I work at, but any metallic gold acrylic paint will do, so long as you layer it and don't gob it all on at once. It took 3 coats to get it this way, and I could have used another coat. It has to be acrylic paint, though. I also used Eco-Flow's Super Sheen as a finisher and sealer. Quote
