Looks like a pangolin, don't it?

I've had this bracelet in mind for a while. It's one of my first forays into working with leather with an actual goal in mind (aside from just practicing on scrap). I've also just gotten into adding ink to scales for maille and these are some of my experiments. By the way, India ink and shellac-based ink do not play well with Mod Podge dimensional magic, but didn't have any effect on the resin once everything was dry.

This bracelet is just under 3 inches wide and I used line 20 snaps for the closure. After playing with it for a bit, I need to go back and hammer a couple of the snaps a little tighter... I also made it a scant 1/8" too small for my wrist, but them's the breaks when you're experimenting I suppose. Going forward, the holes I punched to attach the scale patch will need to be a bit farther apart so the scales aren't quite so floppy, and the snaps will need to be set a tad closer to the ends of the leather so it actually fits me... But aside from that I'm pretty happy with the results. The Fiebing's turquoise dye also comes very close to matching the turquoise rings I used to attach the scales to the leather, which was a pleasant surprise.
