Members pearlheartgtr Posted January 15, 2014 Members Report Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) Ok. I've been searching the web and searching the web for various leather conditioner/dressing recipes because I want to play around and make some for myself. I've already bought a pound of beeswax and a half pound of carnuba wax flakes. So on my travels, I came across this motherlode of beeswax leather and wood polish recipes on a beekeeping forum. Note: There's one recipe that bears a remarkable resemblance to Montana Pitch Blend. I can't take the credit for the post. The poster's name is hedgerow pete. http://www.beekeepin...read.php?t=9167 Have fun! Edit: I copy/pasted both posts he made for the recipes into a text (txt) document. I cleaned it up a little (some formatting and spellcheck) so it would be easier to read. Beeswax Polish Recipes.txt Edited January 15, 2014 by pearlheartgtr Quote
Members olds cool Posted January 18, 2014 Members Report Posted January 18, 2014 Nice find. I've been looking for a mixture that I can put into a deoderant tube and apply to edges or large areas for final polishing. I tried a 50/50 blend of beeswax and parafin with some neetsfoot (unmeasured amount) but it dried too stiff and is now stuck in the tube. Pretty sure something in here will be soft enough to work.
