  1. Aww, thank you! And yes, sanding and painting is was two whole weeks of full time attendance. You kinda have to wait before you turn the pieces to coat every crevice and corner, and then you have to wait like a day or two to let every layer dry hahaha. Also I was surprised to see that the Montana Gold Metal primer was a darker red colour. Didn't expect that, thought it would be white-ish. Thanks again for the appreciation 😄 Grace
  2. Hi everyone, I have a Landis model 25 or Landis 5 in 1 for sale. The machine is fully refurbished and oiled, rolls smoothly and works like a charm. Skiving blade is freshly sharpened. All parts original except for the spring on the back of the machine which is new. The 5 in 1 has the following functions: - Sole cutter - Sole and heel trimmer - Skiver - Edge beveler - Welt roller The machine has been repainted using high quality spray paint, namely the Montana Gold Metal primer, followed by a coat of color (color ref. "Bone") and high gloss varnish from the same brand. All oiling points have been marked with red. I ask 1350 USD for the machine. I'm a bit flexible with the price but not much. I'm located in Sweden and I can ship it anywhere at the expense of the buyer. Here are some specs: weight: 24 kg or 53 lb shipping weight: 27 kg or 60 lb (will be shipped packed in a box and wrapped tightly in 2" or 5 cm thick polystyrene all around) Height: 61 cm or 2 ft (the top parts can be mounted off for shipping tho, in which case the height lands at about 32 cm or a litte above 1 ft) Width: 42 cm or 16,5" Depth: 20 cm or 8" Comment below or DM me if you're interested Cheers, Grace
  3. @WMages Hi there, I have one for sale in case you are still interested. Fully functioning with all parts original, I assume. Heard it works like a charm for thicker sole leather, but since I'm a fashion designer and work with really soft and thin (0,5-1,2 mm) garment leathers I don't have much use for it. Let me know if you're interested. I was thinking around 2k USD, but I'm open to suggestions. I live in Sweden but if you can arrange the shipping to wherever you are located I'll take care of the rest. I'm pretty used to sending heavy stuff so I know how to package it well. I'm new here on the forum but I'll try to post it in the sell ads section where it belongs. Kind regards, Grace
  4. Hi everyone, Newbie to this forum here : ) I wonder if anyone here has experience with the Texi brand cylinder bed machines, and with the Texi Ram C specifically. Is that a clone of some other high end machine? I have a start-up (we're established in Sweden) and I'd could use some advice on a good and reasonably priced (up to 1700 euro) machine for bag making. We are leaning towards the Texi model named above, but I cannot seem to find any reviews on it nor any information on the maximum thread thickness possible. Also, we plan on using the Polycotton and the Unwaxed Linen threads (both of which can be used on sewing machines) from the french brand Fil au Chinois. Here's the link to where you can buy them and see the different sizes: https://sajou.fr/en/1819-unwaxed-twisted-matt-linen-thread-12-3-fil-au-chinois Does any of you have experience using these threads on sewing machines, and which sizes and kinds have you used in that case? I'm having hard times figuring out if the thickest Polycotton (0,52mm in diameter) and the thinnest unwaxed lined (0,75mm) will work for the machine above - and if not, what is the actual maximum thread diameter (in millimeters) for this machine and the ones the like? Also, does anyone have a conversion chart for this thing in particular, the thread number in tex for example and the actual thread diameter? I have by now returned several orders with some different kinds of Fil au Chinois threads because compared to the good old Gütermann linen thread (there's only one kind, that I know of anyways, see the link below) they just seemed uncomparingly thin, despite being advertised as significantly thicker in diameter. https://consumer.guetermann.com/en/products/linen-thread/ Do the Fil au Chinois usually run thinner than what they are supposed to be? For anyone who can help, the Gütermann linen is a good reference for the thinnest thickness considered for our bags. Grateful for all tips and insights : ) Grace
