  1. One slightly used Landis splitter for sale. Oldie but a goodie. Works great. Too heavy to ship. Must pick up locally. Floresville, Texas. $650.
  2. Hi All, Before I start, I have scoured the internet for resources before posting this thread. This includes reading all related posts in Leatherwork.net, watching the entire Steve Mueller Curved Needle Stitcher video on YouTube (an excellent step-by-step for setup), read both the “Do it yourself maintenance and troubleshooting Guide” and the “Landis Model K Instruction Book” and half a doze other Facebook videos. I have done the following as specified by Steve Mueller video and Landis Manual. - new 22-50 needle with barb set a 1/16” from needle guide - new 22-47 awl set 1/16” from needle as awl is feeding to the left of needle - looper set thread 1/16” from needle barb - set thread lifter correct distance from bobbin case and alignment with needle - new thread #7 right twist for bottom thread and #6 right twist for bobbin - wax stripper tension set to remove wax, but allow free flowing with locking lever at top and locking when at bottom -adjusted tension spring - fully cleaning and lubricated rollers and gears to remove any wax build up - threaded as shown by Steve Mueller This machine previously worked but I moved it from one location to another and just now getting the shop back up. After all the calibration and setup, I get about 2-3” Into the stitching process before the thread begins to shred and eventually break. I’ve been troubleshooting different tension and it doesn’t seem like I can get it right as it always shreads before I can complete a full welt. Any advice, tricks, tips, suggestions for things that you’ve found work that aren’t in the manual would be greatly appreciated. -Jeremy

Wired for 120V. $700 OBO Autosoler comet-10 $50 OBO Pickup in Richland, WA or if you are nearby we could probably work something out for a delivery. We can work out a bundle price too, just let me know if you're interested. I will try and check this regularly. There are some other nick nacks in the shop related to shoe repair I would probably part with too, just not going to be a dream I can chase. Thanks, Conner
  4. Wanted Landis 12 K curved needle bobbin carrier.
  5. Hello out there! I am new to this and trying to find equipment for my shop. Where in the world do you find this stuff?? At the top of my list: Tippmann Boss, Pfaff 3-5" post machine (single needle, compound feed, walking foot sewing machine, Landis Sole Stitcher, 5 in 1, and Boot Last. Anybody help???
  6. I am looking to sell this Landis Aristocrat Model L outsole stitcher. It's in northern NJ for anyone who'd like to pick up -- but weighs nearly 800 lbs. (Unable to ship unless you arrange all of it including a pickup.) I'm looking to get around $600 for it. It works perfectly! My dad was a shoemaker but has since retired and doesn't need all his machinery. Hope someone here might be interested.
  7. Great shape, a 10' long cast iron, 220v single phase, shoe finisher, for grinding and polishing shoes. Horsehair brushes, all the cutters too, boxed separately but included. This was running up to the day the shop closed. Also includes the cloth dust collector bags so it's ready to plug in and go. Dryer outlet plug is on it. Will deliver to local Dayton Ohio area (or charge per mile for further) but need you to unload it, and it weighs at least 1500 lbs or so. Motors are huge and heavy, and probably worth the price just for those. If no buyers I'll pull the motors and horsehair brushes and sell separately.
  8. I believe this to be in good working condition although a bit dirty from sitting in a shoe shop. $300 Located in Chesapeake Virginia 23322
  9. Landis 5 in 1 trimmer in good working order. The Welt Roller has an old repair, but functions as it should. Use as is or restore. $650.00. Located in Stuart Florida, can ship UPS at buyers expense.
  10. We have a LANDIS hand crank skiver that belonged to our grandfather who was a cobbler in the early 1900's The base is a bit rusty but otherwise, it is functional - just needs some cleaning up. We are open to honest bids. The machine is in Michigan.
  11. Hi There, I'm new to the forum, although i'm a long time lurker as this seems to be the best place to get opinions on anything leather. I'm in the market for a walking foot or roller foot sewing machine and found a local kijiji listing for one of each. The first is a singer cylinder arm machine with what appears to be a landis badge (second picture), and the second is a post bed roller foot sewing machine with a supreme badge and a separate landis badge (i think) - this looks like a Landis TK51(third picture), but i'm really not that experienced with sewing machines and was wondering your opinion. Can anyone help identify these? Can you give me any info about quality? They are selling for $600 each and i really have no context about sewing machine pricing. Regis

It has been setting in the corner of his shop for a period but was fully tuned before doing so. It worked perfect when last used. More pictures to follow

  16. Are the Landis 30 (no longer in production as far as I can tell) and the Master Tools Leather Splitter the same machine? I'm having trouble setting up my Landis 30, which is missing the two screws that are set on the back just below the blade. I'm considering ordering the Master Tools gauge from Weaver to help set it up properly. Will the Master Tools splitter blade fit the Landis 30? Thanks for your help.
  17. Hey all, I have 2 Landis #3 stitchers for sale in my shop. Both are in great shape and are still used on a regular basis. Priced at $2500 OBO each. I have photos and videos of both in operation. Cant figure out how to resize my photos small enough to post on here. I am located in California near the Sacramento area but travel as far up as Washington and over thru Nevada and Idaho occasionally. Serious inquiries please email me @ schipwreck@gmail.com Thanks
  18. Hello everyone, Would someone mind giving me a hand with this Landis Model 30 splitter blade set up? It is giving me fits. I just got the blade back from the sharpener and can't remember exactly how to reinstall it. I have a couple specific questions. 1) Do I have the blade stops installed correctly on the bottom roller? 2) Do I have the blade facing the correct direction? Do I need to flip it over? 3) Is the idea to raise the bottom roller up to close the gap between the blade and the roller? Or lower the bottom roller down to close the gap? 4) How far forward does the blade sit in relation to the blade stops? I have raised and lowered the bottom rollers a bunch of times and can't seem to get the 1/16th recommended gap. It is either way too big (about 1/8" and everything slides under) or I end up having the blade just resting on the bottom roller which isn't good either. I must be missing something. For context, in a perfect world I would set this machine up to split English Bridle from about 2.5mm down to about 0.8-1mm. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
  19. Hi I'm looking to remount my Landis 16 head onto a sitting table. Has anyone an example they can show me. I like the idea of retaining the swing out oil drip tray...very cool feature. It may require custom design and fabrication...unless a standard cylinder arm table is up to the task or if someone has plans or one for sale. Silverd
  20. I recently purchased this Landis splitter - blade missing. Anyone have an idea where I might purchase a blade, used or new?
  21. Here's a nice 400 Line Finisher. I'm ready to move it out. I had posted a few months ago but I didn't have my Sutton ready yet. This has been in daily use for 30 years. Very nice old machine. I have to keep the numkeg however. Sanding wheels are all in good shape. Blower is strong, 220V. Comes with some trimmers and edge irons. Great for all kinds of leather finishing, not just shoes. Selling for $850. I can deliver up to 200 miles from 65041. Keep in mind it's long and heavy if you're coming to get it.
  22. Hi guys, I just picked a Landis splitter and what I believe is a Champion 30 Peerless machine on Craigslist for $100! Seemed too good to be true, but the splitter works pretty well. I haven't had a chance to set up the Champion yet. The one issue I'm having with the splitter is that the knife doesn't seem to be able to cut through the leather at the very end. I'm able to feed the leather through the rollers and it splits all the way until the last few mm and then it catches on the knife and gets stuck. At that point, I either have to cut the leather out by hand or walk it back out the way it came. Is this happening because the knife isn't sharp enough? Thanks for the assist!
  23. Hi All, I'm wanting to purchase either a hand crank or electric leather splitter - used. I'm located in Australia so am looking for someone willing to post to Australia or located in Australia. Thanks Tom
