Thank you for the comment @TonyV When you say tie your square knot, do you then just cut the thread flush or near flush before hammering? Thank you very much for the advice.

I put iron to leather for the first time about 2 weeks ago. This is my first attempt at cutting leather to equal sizing, and second time sewing two pieces of leather together. Feedback would be most welcome. (I don't have a suitable beveler). Thank you.
