  1. I had to take apart the timing part of my aerostitch to replace a part, trying to get it back to where it will work again is driving me a bit batty. Anyone know what I'm looking for when setting up the timing?
  2. Whenever I've called them they've fixed it over the phone with me tinkering with it while they talk, you should give them a ring.
  3. I can turn the air off and cycle it by hand no problem. First time this has happened.
  4. I was sewing with my Aerostitch, the needle paused, continued, then stopped completely. No idea what it is, it's nto the sm-32 springs, I'll call Tippmann tomorrow but am at a stnadstill for today unless I figure this out.
  5. I'm having the same problem as this last poster from ages ago. It's not a broken sm-32-2 spring, they're both intact. I was sewing along and the needle paused on 1 stitch, then after a moment it kept going for a few more stitches then stopped completely.
  6. This may just end up being that I already do it right, but I have experimented with some multi-colored dying and it's never quite right. For example, black background, red cross. (This is all with dyes, no paints) I dye right up to the edge of the cross, but then I need to air brush right against it or use a paintbrush. I find when I do this, the dye just doesn't saturate enough in the parts I airbrush or paint and I try and get it heavier but it's like it doesn't even want to soak in. Any magical tips that I should know about? I guess it's that I can't seem to get enough dye close to the edge without endangering the part that's supposed to be red, if I load up the dye it could flow over and it's ruined. Richard
  7. I'm looking to have a custom crafttool stamp made. It would be the skull and sword image found here, a quote on various sized would be great. http://www.bloodandiron.ca/ Looking for smaller though, an example would be around the size of the Tandy skull/xbones crafttool stamps, perhaps a touch bigger. Please contact me via email, thankyou. magnus at dark-horse.ca
  8. Nothing is molded, it all just fits based on the cut. Zipper I bought a long one and cut it to size, it went from the bottom up to the base of the neck. I cut the 2 body shapes out slightly bigger than the case, one I slowly cut to do the front, the other the back, then of course the side piece.
  9. A customer asked me to replicate an Elvis guitar cover from some photos he had of one in a museum. I'd never done one before, pretty pleased with how it turned out in the end since I dont' do a lot of westernish things, flowers etc. As a note I could have done a lot more with how the coloring came out on the tooling but he wanted it to match the image exactly. 10. Still working on it. The needle seems to once in a while go right through the needle threado n a stitch and get all gimped, probably a thread to needle size issue. But the overall stitch length is still being annoying.. after the pressure foot walks the leather, the leather seems to come back forward, as well as sometimes lift a bit to throw things out of wack.
  11. I'll go snag that grease tomorrow and give it a good greasin' I'm used to quirky since I own the Boss already.
  12. Ya, counter clockwise. Not sure.. I've wound my thread just like I did on my boss. With a drill, so it's probably fairly tight. On the other hand I tried the manual thread winder on the Aerostitch and found it lacking.
  13. I've kind of got my Aerostitch working. The needle will move, that's a good start. A few issues.. 1. The leather doesn't seem to walk very well, and unlike the Boss I can't see a pressure foot adjuster. 2. It will sew very short stitches, fairly akwardly because of the above problem with the pressure foot. 3. Longer stitches it will skip every stitch. I really want to get this working, after I've finished this new orderI'll get back to it, just hoping there was some more help here. Regards
