Thanks Lilpep. I found it in BG's book. It should not be a problem now. Thanks again. Erik

Thanks Brian for your quick reply. I hope that I can figure out what you mean. I'm still a beginner in leather braiding. Are you familiair with the book of Bruce Grant? Is there something in there I can use as example for instructions? Thanks again, Erik

Hi, I found this picture of a nice bracelet. Can somebody explain to me how such a piece is made? I can't figure it out how it is done. Thanks, Erik

Thanks Brian. Thats enough to practice with. But I still don´t understand why David Morgan calls his Gaucho knot 10P - 8B, is this technically correct? According to the gridmaker it should be 11P-8B or 9P-8B? Thanks again, Erik

Hi, can somebody help me explain the following? I'm trying to figure out how to use Grid Maker (by Tim Allwine) for a gaucho weave. I found out that I can use the following coding to make a perfect grid: \\// But is it possible to use gridmaker to make a gaucho weave with two colors? (For instance to make a /\/\/\ pattern) I have a book of David Morgan with lots of information how to tie a gaucho knot. One of his gaucho knots is based on a 4B 5P turks head. To make the Gaucho knot he "weaves" with a loose strand to make the gaucho knot, he calls it the 8B 10P gaucho knot? Is this correct? Because this knot I cannot make with the grid maker. Can somebody explain this to me? Thanks, Erik

Thanks again for all the good advice. It´s up to me now. I´m just going to start braiding, and I have to learn a lot along the way. I did some asking around here in the Netherlands but Leather Braiding is not very popular, so I will be back for more answers here with you all. I´ll let you know how I ´m progressing. Greetings, Erik

Thanks guys, this is real good information for me. I think I just start braiding without preperation, except for the leather soap. Perhaps later if I'm really hooked to the braiding I go one step further, and making my own lace. But for now I will use the Kangaroo Lace as is. After all your good help I still have 2 qustions though: you all mention "rolling" your finished piece. But what is that exactly, and how is it done? Does anybody now a real good leatherworker in the netherlands, where perhaps I can follow some workshops? Thanks again, Erik

Thanks Brian. So many questions. I bought the lace from murphywhips.com. It's 20 meters, 3mm wide, from a spool. (brown and black) For I can tell the lace is not beveled, but I don't know if this is nescesary. Hope this will tell you more?

Hi, I'm new to leather braiding. I found this forum, and there is a whole lot of information. Still I can't find an answer to my question. I bought some kangaroo lace to braid a bracelet. What I want to no is, do I need to prepare the Kangaroo lace? (oiling, leather soap, etc.) I read something about preparing/beveling rawhide, but is this also with Kangaroo Lace? Forgive me my ignorance, but I'm just starting. Thanks, Erik (Netherlands)

Hi, For finishing my bracelets and necklaces I'm looking for nice clasps. I realy like the bayonet clasp or the bridge clasp, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. Can someone please help me finding a nice reseller? Preferably in the Netherlands, but anything helps. Thanks, Erik

Hi, I have just started braiding, and I´m gathering as much information as I can. I´m practicing many different knots, so I can use them later on in my projects. The biggest problem I have is to combine the individual knots to a nice project, like a bracelet or a keyfob. For instance I want to braid a bracelet. I read a lot of topics about to finish with a Gaucho or Turkshead. But as I understand I first have to finish with a so called "Terminal Knot". I looked everywhere for a nice instruction on how to make one but I can´t seem to find one. Can somebody help with a nice tutorial on how to make such a "Terminal Knot"? Or better yet a complete Tutorial for braiding a nice roundbraid bracelet? Thanks, Erik
