The pebbled background tools used are the Tandy E294 (medium size) and the E294-04 (small size). There is a larger size too but I never use it. It's one of my favorite backgrounding tools.
Thanks very much. I like it alot and want to use it on some of my renaissance pieces. I take it you used a light touch with it to make it look pebbled? I realized I've been using the large version of these tools and striking it quite deep to create a border pattern that is very definite. Very nice.
Can I ask what weight of leather you used here? Also, can I ask whether the stitching around the edges is decorative or if it secures something?
