I'm pretty sure that's what they used. It looked something like an old frayed cotton lead rope that was wrapped and set on itself. The boys liked it because it grabbed similar to mule hide but was easier and cheaper to find. My concern is that the rope may catch in between wraps but I try my darndest to get it 'er tight enough. Thanks alot!

Does anyone know or heard of using cotton for dally/horn wrap? I've seen this on a few ranch hand's saddles back home and they really liked it. Does anyone know how to wrap a horn with cotton? It was something like an old lead shank that was used????
