    Cobra Class 4

Class 4 machine for sale in College Station, TX. Bought brand new from Steve at Leather Machine Co. Less than a full spool has been run on the machine due to time restraints and having access to another machine. Asking $2000.00 firm, still have all the original parts and accessories practically brand new. Runs great, never had a problem.

  8. Cant beat having the day off, working in the shop, and listening to it rain (for the fist time in half a year)

  9. Thanks very much for the info Spinner, i like your motorcycle work and will probably order a few of them burnishers. I just called my buddy and he indeed has not been thinning his paint. I will try these methods, what kind of finish, if any, do you like to use?
  10. Well i will simply start with the acrylic paints from wal-mart, thank you so much for your help on this. i have acrylic resolene, are you saying cut it with 50% water, or is this some other product?
  11. seems easy enough, my buddy has been using Tandys paint but has had some problems with it chipping off......ever run into this before?
  12. Ive got a guy around town that is doing a pretty good business with modern "cowboys and cowgirls" wanting very bright and shiny belts. You can see the attached with many colors they also like Sheridan carving with a bright background Want to get into painting but dont know the best brand, type, methods, and finishing process (basically I don't know anything about it....). Any info would help as i am going by the supply shop this weekend.... Frank you berry mussh!
  13. I have a very new Cobra Class 4 machine and I have noticed that for some reason it seems that my top thread is getting twisted and not laying down flat. Was wondering if anyone could help troubleshoot. I watched steves DVD and the I'm threading it right so don't know what it could be. All help is much appreciated.
  14. Really nice work. I especially like the second one that has the restroom sign character feel. Very funny, good job.
  15. Thanks for the reply. Lately I've been making avenger style holsters and I think I understand your method. A visual aid would be great help as I am a visual learner. Thanks for your help!
  16. I am a novice and i have read post about laying out the pattern and can do a decent job at that, however i have made several mistakes at guessing the stitch line for the contour of the pistol and my stitching has come out too tight and the pistol dosen't fit. I have never made one that is too loose, but obviously want to avoid that. I just want to know if anyone possibly some type of "formula" that can prevent me from eyeballing it and coming out wrong due to the difference in the thickness and size of guns. Thanks for anyone's help
  17. Those are a lot of the same questions i have Hilary. I think I can get the dye figured out but I have no clue which direction to go after that. I read a lot of post and it seems like there are a million different ways to finish veg tanned leather. I would just like a good source to view the different products with good descriptions of their use and application as many descriptions are vague. Collin
  18. So in your bottom pic the edge is the cutout and the pencil line is the stitch line?
  19. Ok I'm off the Damascus high but now I wonder about a new sensible knife. Are the new Osborne knifes worth the money? I can't stand to watch and watch on eBay to finally find a good knife only to be outbid by $2.00 because they snipe me. I did buy 3 pairs of wiss industrial low leverage scissors for 2 bucks each but I want to learn some more traditional ways as I am a more hobbiest then a businessman. Any suggestions for a decent priced quality knife for a beginner?
  20. After reading this, i don't see how i can go wrong with it. I'll see if he'll give me a few days to try it and send it back if it dosen't work out. Worst case i feel like i could get back out of it for that price. Tandys damascus knives are 150.00 and not as nice.
  21. here is what i mean, i dont have any experience and was looking at buying this knife for $75 plus shipping and didnt know if it was a good investment.
  22. Back to head knifes, how good are Damascus blades? And does anyone suggest the hole in the blade for a finger rest? Seems like it could waste a lot of blade Down The road...
  23. Wow thanks for all the replys! I have bought one round knife and I'm looking at a custom head knife, and i was wondering how good damascus blades are? Also does anyone suggest the hole for a finger rest? seems like that could potentially waste a lot of blade down the road...
