Hi there. Just saw some old tawses on Ebay. One was the equivalent of 5 one pound pieces thick which would make it about 15mm. Another is about 10mm. Is there such leather out there or must they have been bonded? Cheers me dears. FC

Hi one and all. Need a new belt. Want to stamp/engrave progress. It will be worn as things progress. So I make the belt. Stamp/engrave up to now (deer, snipe etc. But could be anything. It's a story in the making). BUT I need to wear and protect it then add more designs as and when. How could this be done? Will oils/wax's stuff up the stamping etc? Consider it an ongoing story. Cheers FC

Hi ya I tend to work with veg tanned. I only want to carry a small stock and wish to cover many needs. I've been using belting leather which burnishes and tools. But what if I use tooling russet? Dye and oil it etc Trying to make masks hence tooling russet. Wish to make the odd sheath and rifle sling. Also make (oh how to put this!)....Leather objects that impact. So flexibility is needed and longevity. Basically is there a good base leather? Cheers Ian

OK leather has the grain side and flesh side but some leathers look like they, nearly, have two good sides. Can I achieve this at home? Oh and what is the name for this leather/finish? I need two good faces. The only other way is to sew or bond two thinner pieces. Cheers ian

Hi I'm looking for studs with holes in. The one I've seen was like a Sam Brown stud with a hole in it for a ring. Here is another one.... http://www.leprevo.co.uk/photos/padlock-stud.html Has anyone seen any for sale on their travels through the net? Or are there any other names than padlock stud? Cheers Me Dears
