i know you problem and tried a lot to fugure out how it works... alans tutorial is great but you shoud do 2 things differend.

when you do it alans way (the tut is old and perhaps he makes it an other way).

first you should make a foundation that is symetrical and both ends are the same (the long standig end and the short standing ends on the other side...
