  1. Hi all! I have made Kangaroo braided dog leads... My question is how do you soften the kangaroo lace to get a tighter braid? Is there a type of lotion you can put on the lace before or after braiding? Here is a picture of one of my leads! Thanks Tammie Calvert
  2. Here are a couple of pictures of my first braided dog show lead. I think it turned out pretty good. I took it to the dog show last weekend, my friends ordered 3 of them... Tammie
  3. Hi everyone, I made my first braided dog show lead last week, took it to the dog how with me and got 3 orders for dog show leads. My problem is that I need the 1/8" white kangaroo lace. I order some from Springfield leather co. and it's on back order for 4-6 weeks! Any ideas where I can find this color, I would like to have them made for the dog show in a couple of weeks, so I can sell them. thanks Tammie
  4. I have two book on braiding, Braiding Fine Leather by David W. Morgan and Leather Braiding by Bruce Grant. Both books should be very helpful. I ordered my Kangaroo lace from Springfield...even got a few beads... What mm of beads do you suggest for an 1/8" Kangaroo lace? The ones I ordered are 4 mm. Thanks for your help...I can't wait to make my first show lead! Tammie
  5. I'm confused on how you start the braid without a snap or ring.... I will not be using a core. Thanks Tammie
  6. Hi everyone, I want to learn how to make a beaded, braided dog show lead without the ring or snap. I have owned and shown my English Setters for 16 years. I have bought several beaded, braided dog show leads and would like to make my own. I have no experience with leather and would love to learn. Can anyone help me get started? Thanks! Tammie Calvert
