I've been trying and experimenting with leathercraft since about 1985. I began by taking classes at the local Tandy store, where I lived then in Costa Mesa CA. I've made and sold items including belts, small cases to be worn on belts, wallets, a briefcase, Bible cases, etc.

I'm now in the process of making a small briefcase, using a pattern from Al Stohlman's book, The Art of Making Leather Cases, Volume 2. I think I enjoy the construction of the larger items as much as the carving and tooling.

My next project is to make a few belts using saddle-skirting leather and Sam Browne buckles.
