  5. The short answer is that you can burnish the flesh side for a nice smooth surface. If you want color the flesh side of the bag. To get a very nice, smooth finish on the flesh side, spread a light coat of gum tragacanth on a section of the flesh side and let it dry a bit, then take a bone creaser and rub down the section you covered. Repeat the process until you've covered the entire grain side. This process will partially seal the grain side and smooth it out. Like you said, another option is to line it with pigskin or another light lining leather. Hope this helps. Ric
  6. I just finished one. They are nice cases, but your tablet is not usable while inside the case. These are strcitly for protection and transport. You want to use the tablet...you've got to remove it from the case. You can see pcitures of the one I did at www.ricsleather.com....page for office . The pics are too large to upload here.
  7. Thanks Pounder! Thanks Pounder!
  8. Came across this site today and joined the community. My name is Ric and I'm located in Northeastern Oklahoma. I've been playing with leather off and on for 25+ years, but only got into it semi-seriously in the last 5 years or so after retiring from the U.S. Government. It's great to have found the site and I'm sure I'll learn a lot. If you want to see some of my work, please visit my website .... www.ricsleather.com. Would love to hear what you think! Regards, Ric
