Born and raised in Brooklyn NY but spent a decade living in Los Angeles before eventually returning to NYC. Married to an english teacher who used to do costume design work for Broadway and regional theatre before that. I work in IT doing compliance-related activities in a local hospital.

My principal hobby for decades has been aquariums, with an emphasis for many years now on reef aquarium keeping. In 2002 I co-founded Advanced Aquarist magazine and was involved with it's monthly publication for several years. I've also done some computer game design, including the award-winning mod 'The Illuminated Order' for the PC game Morrowind.

I've developed a strong desire to work with my hands, hence leather crafting. I suck, but am determined to stick with it. Where else am I going to find a hobby where you can make pretty things by smashing them with a mallet?
