Small Knife Sheath For A Swiss Army Knife.
beng replied to Phatdaddy's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Nice work Kevin...a very interesting piece. Was that lacing tough to do? Is there something online that I can look at that shows how to do it? Or can you explain it? It looks nicer than "Double Loop Lacing" but for all I know might be the same. Oh, what did you use for the lacing and did you like it? It looks better than the stuff in the Tandy kits. Thanks, Ben -
Thanks.... Again, nice work on that. Ben

Nice work....very classic and easy on the eyes. If you don't mind me asking.... How did you get that nice even & mellow saddle tan for the background? I'd like to dye like that so I don't ruin my work. Thanks, Ben

A Couple New Floral Belt
beng replied to Double U Leather's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Again, Great work! How did you make just the edges of the belt dark? The Neat Lac is the resist right? So how did you keep from resisting those edges? I love that look. Thanks, Ben -
Ranger Style Belt- Floral
beng replied to Double U Leather's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Nice Work! Did you do the stitching by hard or machine? If by hand, what thread and needle size? Thanks, Ben -
Can anyone tell me how to stain/resist for this effect on this holster & belt? They couldn't have resisted each heart shape 1 by 1...could they? Anyone recognize that heart/apple looking stamp? Is that custom or available some where? Thanks, Ben

Hi, You may be looking at the normal white waxy stuff that HorseHide produces over time. It is normal for horsehide including high end loafers from Alden. Just buff it out and you can relax. I'll bet Alden shoes describes it on their website.
