New prices, will take $225 each for the heads or $400 for the pair, $75 for table with motor, $50 for the table with no motor, or $475 for everything. Prices do not include shipping. This is a great deal for someone. I need to or trade these to get something that will sew a little thicker leather like gun holsters and knife sheaths......
-
Will also trade for something that will sew 7/16 to 1/2 leather, maybe 3/8 is also possible. Looking for cylinder arm if possible...

I have 2 machines I want to sell. Both are in working order, recently serviced top to bottom and sew great. One is a singer model 211g155 single needle walking foot and te other is a singer model 212w140 double needle machine with 1/4" sang between the needles. I have been using the same tablet for both machines with a clutch motor and a speed reducer set up. I have another table but no motor if someone is interested. I am located in temple tx, zip 76502. Buyer to pay actual shipping cost. Buyer will also select the carrier of their choice. Will ship in a sturdy crate. Asking $275 each for the heads only without table, $100 for table with motor, and $$60 for table without motor. Will take $500 for the pair ( heads only), or $600 for everything listed.sorry if this is confusing, please pm, call or text 254-718 seven eight 5 five for details

Thanks everyone for your valuable input. Decisions, decisions! Not sure what I will do. Talked to the guy with the Pfaff and he said he would trade it to me for the 211 and $250 to $300 depending on what the 211 needs. Would that be a good deal?
-
Both the 211 and the 111 are sold by individuals, the Pfaff is sold by a guy who works on machines on the side on a part time basis. Not sure if he offers a warranty or not. I would guess he probably does not. On the Pfaff are you saying that the $500 asking price is astronomic or the parts themselves? Are the Chinese clones mentioned any good? Where do you find them?

I have my choices narrowed down to the following and would appreciate input and advice on each A) a singer 211g155 with a new servo motor attached. It won't pick up the bobbin thread so it will need service. I can trade an extra singer 31-15 I have straight across for it which will leave me a little room to get it fixed a singer 11w155 with table, clutch motor, etcthat is supposed to be in working order (no gurantees) out of an upholstery shopfor $450 C) a piaffe 545, no warranty, head only for my extra 31-15 head and $500 I like option A because of cost provided it can be fixed correctly. Is not picking up bobbin thread usually fixable? Please advise folks

I posted earlier asking if the consew 230 would do leather and was told it would not do what my 31-15 will. With that being said, how much is a good clean 230 worth? I have a chance to pick one up pretty reasonable and thought maybe I could resale it to get me a good walking foot machine. I also have an extra 31-15 I need to sell, complete with table in good condition. Any ideas on its value as well?
-
Hoping for better news here, the consew 230 is a great deal. If you reduceg it down using a series of pulleys or a servo will it work then?
-
Need opiniong and advice on both. I have an opportunity to pick up a consew 230 ( may need timing adjusted some?) but not sure what it will do leather wise. My 31-15 does ok but wish it had reverse and some more modern features. I am wanting to retire her, she's been at it since1901 and still gets it done! Anyway, hopefully someone with some knowledge can help me out here on the features and capability of the 230.....

Thanks for everyone's input. I really feel stupid, turns out I had the needle in wrong, 180 degrees out of rotation. Goes to show, before you start thinking the worst always check the simple stuff first. Thanks again everyone

Yes, tried several different needle after the first one bricked

Ok folks, picked up a little 31-15 . Machine was serviced prior to purchase and sewing like a champ. I got it home and was testing it out sewing thicker and thicker leather layers to see what it could do and got to thick, broke a needle. After replacing needle it now frays up the thread where it goes into the needle eye. Also seems to not be picking up bottom thread very well. Tried several different needles, tensions etc but no luck. I know it's my fault so go ahead and tell me I was dumb but please help if you can.... Can get pics and send via text or email if needed

Thanks for the input. Found an older machine I can pick up for around$500. Have not seen it in person yet but saw a video of it sewing. Guy guarantees it to be in 100% working order. He said it was a singer saddlemaker and will sew up to 3/4" leather. What are your opinions on this?
