Hey guys,
New from South Louisiana. I have messed with leather a little as a hobby. Mainly making knife sheaths and a few other small projects. Came across this forum yesterday and I have already learned a great deal of knowledge in the few hours I spent reading past post. I would like to start some larger projects such as Taps, Chinks, and other tack. Figured I could enjoy making my own stuff and take pride in it as I use it. Anyways Ill be asking many questions in the future. I have a pretty good understanding on using most tools and have watched many videos. My lack of knowledge is the leather part. Mostly what size and parts of the hide to use for what projects. Also being economical when purchasing leather. Thanks for any advice in advance!
