Any finish that's rubbed on (vs airbrush) will remove some dye. The best you can do is to vigorously buff any loose pigment before applying the finish and then apply your first thinned coat very gently to create a protective layer. From there, buff it again after that dries and then add a couple more coats of thinned finish.

Thank you all! I ll see what i can do....but i dont have an airbrush...sadly.

That's ok. Just do that gentle light coat after buffing and you should be fine. it will pick up some pigment, but not enough to ruin your project.
