On the same topic. I'm looking at compressors for airbrushes. How much horse power should I be looking at and what features/accessories are required for airbrushing?

I know this is a really old thread, but this was some really fine work. I hope Azmal still frequents here and if you do can you (or can anyone else) tell me what tools were used for the knot work patterns on the armor? It looks like a large stamp or roller, but I haven't been able to find anything similar to it while searching the internet.

Hello all, I'm planning on doing some leatherwork to make stuff for personal use. I've picked up some good books and found tons of advice stuff on the web. The one area where I still have a lot of questions are tools. Specifically: What places have the best/most fair prices for tools (website or store front)? What are the higher quality brands? Should I go new or used? What are some of the better places to pick up used tools? If I look at used tools (ebay/other website or live), what should I look for to ensure I get a quality or at least usable tool? What should I expect to have to do to restore a used tool to usable levels? What should I keep an eye out for when look at tools to make sure I don't pick up something that is going to break on me a month after purchase? I've already found alot of good information just lurking on this site. Thanks for any additional help you can provide. -Mike
