  • How did you find leatherworker.net?
    internet
  1. Yeah or an exacto or razor knife, If we are going to be cutting a lot of turns in thin leather I make a plexi-glass template with the exact curves so that you can press the leather down with the template and keep it from bunching while you run your knife along the edge of the template.
  2. Thanks Bob! I'll try that and once I get all this dialed I'll document it all here!
  3. I cut tons of Chrome-tanned leather everyday and the best solution we've found is a 60mm fiskars rotary cutter. The fact that the blade rolls as it moves means the leather doesnt bunch up as you go which will happen no matter how sharp your razor is!
  4. I'm not sure where else to ask this so here goes. Does anyone have any experience cutting chrome and oil tanned leathers with their laser. I've messed with it a little but there is a black dust left from our engraving and cutting in Waterhouse leather's Bandito oil-tan. The dust when brushed off seems to smear into the leather and it doesn't look good enough. I would greatly appreciate any tips on using lasers with leathers other than veg tan!
  5. Thanks, I'll look into it and let you know what I find!
  6. I'm looking to split a lot of chrome tan leather pretty often. I don't know much about splitters either. What Band Knife splitters do you suggest?
