Your images look great. Hang on to those practice pieces, you'd be amazed what some dye and shoe polish can do if you aren't totally happy with the look now. I took a lot of my old practice pieces and learned about construction with them making cases and boxes.

This is a tablet case I made as a gift for my brother, who works in neuro science (hence the obnoxious brain theme). The art on the front cover is a simple art deco inspired design. The metal plate conveniently hides a hole in the leather and has two drawings of the brain that I acquired from the web. The original drawings are illustrations from a late renaissance era manuscript. The monkey in the corner is there because monkeys are funny.

Really gorgeous work, colors are great. I agree about the strap being on the narrow side, but honestly, it is altogether fantastic.

Hi- This is my first post This is a case I made as a gift. It is big enough to hold a small tablet like the Nook or Google Nexus. The art on the top flap is inspired from Art Nouveau design. I dyed the carved and stamped region red, then finished the rest in mahogany. The back of the case has a bronze plate with a global map image acquired from http://thegraphicsfairy.com. If there is interest, I can explain how I transferred the image, which was fairly easy. My wife chose the fabric and sewed the liner (she handles the textiles). The small blue pocket is designed to hold onto a phone. It is large enough to hold the recharge chords, tablet, phone, and any papers. Perfect for carry on air travel. Anyway, let me know what you all think, it is nice to have a place to post work and get a critique.
