I have just started working with leather so others may have a better source but I get mine from cousinsuk.com as I'm UK based. They are not expensive but do seem to be of good quality. Cousins do ship internationally though you might find a nearer source in the US. Google watch materials and you should find plenty though some do require you to open a business account. Cousins don't. Normally a 20mm strap (on the watch side) would taper down to 18mm or 16mm (buckle end). All depends on what you want. You could certainly use a 20mm buckle on a 20mm strap.
