  1. Just beautiful!!! LOVE the red bag! Love! You're doing such great work! Nice stitching! Wow, just beautiful!
  2. Ah, okay, great! I will give it a try! Thanks so much!!!
  3. That sounds like a good idea. Can you buy regular sewing machine thread, or do you have to buy those bigger cone one? I think I will try that next. I have loads of sewing machine thread, but that might be a bit too weak? Thank you...for your help!
  4. Yep, your right! I guess I wasn't being careful? It's much better now that I've practiced a bit. . Since these holes are much thinner, can you separate the waxed thread? Like embroidery floss? Or, doesn't that mess up the thread? I don't think the place I get my stuff even has thinner thread?
  5. Well, I got my new irons today. I 'think' I'm excited? I'm sure there is a learning curve for EVERYTHING! So...what am I doing wrong? My stitching was nice and straight with my old punch, now it's all messed up? But I'm stitching the same way? The red is the new iron, the white is the old iron. In their pictures Online, it's straight, so...it's got to be me! Thanks for your help!
  6. Hey!!!! What a GREAT idea!!!! Thanks Pablo27!!
  7. A friend sold me this homemade hammer for $10. I love it. It seems the head is formed from several 'plasticish' disks put together. Do you know what they are and where to find them? Thanks!! And...how do u upload pictures in the body of the text, instead of having to attach them? I like looking at the pics without having to click on them. Just wondering? Thx again!
  8. So...I made a wallet. Thanks to everyone who told me about chucking up my punch to the drill press, that worked great! Still need some practice, but this was a good enough first try. I'm just wondering...how do you cut down on the bulk? I would have loved to put in more layers, for cards, and what not, but then...it would have been five inches thick?! And...putting the fabric lining on...wasn't my first choice...but it worked ok. I was just wondering how do you do it? Just...thinner leather? I don't know? Maybe you can only do the thinner ones by machine then? Anyone...thoughts? Thanks!! Inside.
  9. Wooo Hooooo!!! Thanks everybody!!!! Got the HF set, then I tried chucking up my punch that I have too (it has the heads that are interchangeable). PERRRFECT! Worked like a charm and EXACTLY what I wanted!! Sweet looking holes and...fast too! Now I just need to practice my cutting! . Thanks so much everyone for your tips and suggestions! Planning my next bag!
  10. Really? Wow, that'd be even better! Cause I think they have smaller punches and that would be awesome! Thanks for the tip!!
  11. Yeah, I have one of those punches. Next time I guess? But maybe I'll look into those drill press punches? Would sure make it go faster! Thanks everybody!
  12. Hammered huh? Well, good to know. The second one is actually mine. I did that on the drill press. Thanks for your help though! That just seemed like a lot of holes with a single punch. But...it does look nicer!
  13. Hello everybody! New to leather and had a question. I liked these cup holders from W&F, I tried it on the drill press, but the holes just didn't come out as nice? Did he really punch these holes? How do you get the holes looking nice? Just wondering! Thanks!
