Well both beeswax and pine pitch are food safe. Cleaning and or sterilization might be difficult if you put anything more than water in it. I personal have not made one yet but am working on one now.

I saw this seam on a tankard and was trying to figure it out. Does anyone know what kind of seam this is? Do you have any link to instructions for this? I think it looks cool but I am not sure how the inside is attached, is it sewn, or just pulled through holes and the sealant (Wax or pitch) holds it together? Thanks!
