Hi all. Thank you so much. I wrote a massive detailed reply, which is now lost. in short. Mechanic came out at my cost. Spent almost 2 days setting up machine
Agents mean well, but dont seem to know the machine. Hey recommended twisted thread. of which I bought 10 rolls of different weight. Mechanic says the needles are poor quality and we eventuallyut in bonded hread Poly cotton blend M20, that bacstitched noproblem.
The mechanic used to work on the adler 205. Agents would do well to contract an independent professional technician to do thesetup for them and should not pretend to know a machine, when they dont. In the States people stake their reputation on setup and backup.
They wanted me to send the head back on my expense 1000 mies one way. It was with them and there were many issues, although is did sew but with sound effects
etc.
Thread lubrication was added at mechanics advice and it works a charm.
I prefer threading the coblea way, althouh I realise tension is tension whichever way you achieve it. My check spring wastoo loose and bobbin tension too tight. There was play on some of the shafts, driver play. feed timing, feet alignment.
I was using M8 thick thread left twist polyester, but have since decided to move to M12 thinner hread polyester left twist. If I buy again, I will buy bonded polyester and uality needles. lie 180 needles with M12 thread.
I am glad I got ot sorted, now the work os happening again. Mahine runs smooth and noiseless.
I see a p1 to p9 setting on servo motor, Got a fright when machine wanted to run in reverse, probably programs for cycle of motor. got ot on P 8 which seems to work.
Thanks again!
