    Two 3/4" x 1" hinges were used to allow the clamp jaws to open.

    The end of the leg was cut at 3° to allow the leg to clamp tighter against the stationary jaw and a 45° mitre was cut across the outside edge to accommodate the barrel of the hinge.

    Four pieces of 3/4" x 2 1/4" x 3" White Oak were glued and pinned to form the laminate block. A 45° mitre was cut across the outside edge of the hinged leg piece to accommodate the barrel of the hinges.

    1/4-20 x 4" carriage bolt was epoxied into a 5/8" diameter x 3/8" deep counter bore to prevent it from freely rotating when attempting to tighten.
