  1. I know this was a long time ago, but do you still have it? -Alden
  2. All, So in typical fashion, i figure out the first problem right after posting. The tension wasn't correct, not allowing it to pull heavily enough to get it past the back of the hook. Wiz, I think the issue was the inner foot not being straight. It kept going diagonal a bit with the back stitch. I straightened it and it seems to be a bit better. Thanks for the quick responses! -Alden
  3. All, I'm having a few issues with my cobra class 4. 1. I took the hook out to inspect it after a needle shattered. When i put it back in, the top thread wont get around the hook for some reason. It gets stuck on the back side of the hook I have attached a picture for reference. Top thread is brown. In the picture i haven't screwed the screws all the way down, but even when i do, it doesn't clear the hook. 2. When i back stitch, it doesn't go in the same hole. The length of backstitch is much longer than the forward stitch. If anyone knows how to fix that, i'd be very grateful. Thanks for the help! -Alden

    Consew 227

I'm looking to get rid of my consew 227. I've had it for a year now, used it to make bags and wallets. I'm in need of something that can sew thicker leather, as the 227 is comfortable at 1/4 inch. I just had it serviced at IMSCO in san antonio, and it's working smooth. New hook, stitch regulator works. It's on a custom stand with casters. $1,000.00 or best offer. I can deliver up to an hour away for an extra $50. Anything more and you'll need to come get it yourself. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c287/purezit/IMG_20150103_170309539.jpg -Alden
  5. Finally found some time to put this up. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7UzagQgL94VNHpUYXFURE55V3RienZOR1FKVnJpVGRoVFo4/view?usp=sharing
  6. Tom, I adjusted the latch, but it doesnt seem to help. I was working on a handle last night and it got caught up again. I took some pictures, i'll post them later tonight. -Alden
  7. Tom, Thanks for the help, i'll see if i can close mine a bit. It seems to be only smaller thread that's giving me problems. (i'm using 69 at the moment, and it's been happening quite often) Hopefully that will help.
  8. Thats almost exactly what it looks like. How do you adjust the latch opening distance?
  9. Roof! i've been having the exact same problem with my 227(no Reverse). Did you find a fix for it? I was thinking of putting some tape or something over the latch so the thread doesnt get hooked on it. I already had the hook replaced, so i really am running out of ideas. It's super frusterating, it's a great machine, but when it does get hooked, it really messes up the bottom of my work. I'll try and put up some pics when i get home.
