  1. Thank you, Thor. That's heartwarming and motivational!
  2. Thank you, I appreciate your kind words! And yes, this seems to be a very nice place. Alex
  3. The buttons are called Sam Browne studs, and I buy mine mainly from Abbey England. I'm not sure about NA, but I know Tandy has them. They come with either a screw back or ones that you set with a stud anvil, much like a rivet. Alex
  4. Hello, everyone! I have a few photos of recent work I thought I would share with you all. Included are a couple of different genres of leather products. Feel free to leave a comment!
  5. I have a few suggestions regarding both glue and edge finishing. The glue I like to use for lining materials, but suede in particular, is Eco Weld contact cement. It's a water based glue, so it's thin, very easy to apply and ready to put together in minutes. Because of how thin it is, it penetrates the fibers of the liner giving a very secure bond, without the need of pressing it too much. With the edges I normally do one of two things with suede. I either cut the suede at an angle, and finish the veg tan edge on its own. The other way is to cut the suede straight with the veg tan as normal, but to finish the edge wih edge kote. As long as there's no grease or waxes on the edge of the suede, it will stick to it. There will be a tiny ridge from the suede though, because it won't burnish. But I think it looks nice, and usually go with option no. 2. I hope this helps! Alex
  6. Hello there, fellow members! My name is Alex, and I'm a young leatherworker based in Härnösand, Sweden. I don't have a lifetime of experience in the craft, but I grind every day. I think I have developed fairly quickly, atleast to a point where I can take pride in my work. I recently formed a company and launched a website. Now I just have to keep going, further developing my skills and learn from my mistakes! I will include a few photos aswell as the website URL. Have a look if you like! http://www.leatherfromthelin.com
