Unbelieveably lucky leather worker. I started with leather as a way of easing the load on my wallet and my favourite saddler, and began repairing vintage harness. As I got braver and started tackling tougher jobs I started to ask more questions, and next thing I know I am kitted out and getting real help and guidance from Mal Byrne - English Performance Saddler of Melbourne Australia. I'm mad keen on good western saddles and back in 2005 I was lucky enough to have a great Wade saddle custom made by Australian Legend Saddle Maker - Col Hood.

One conversation led to another and ...........he took me under his wing, and now I am an unofficial apprentice to the great man himself.

My Dad was an Antique dealer so I have learned about the subtleties of restoration, preservation and the joys of recovering lost treasures.
