I realize this is an older thread, however I feel like my question is slightly different. if I am reading this right the issue is, your trying to use resist to block additional dye from previously dyed areas. Is that the issue? In my case I want to protect the dyed area from being washed out with antiquing finish. I have seen videos of this being done, however I am not sure if this is what is being discussed here. Please clarify.
