Varsil

Made this awhile ago, have since given it as a gift for a friend. Not a big fan of Settlers of Catan, but the fact it's a bunch of small tiles made for a good learning project to practice tooling.

Thank you all, especially for the helpful suggestions. I'll definitely try the hole punching on the next one. This one I'll just wait and see and observe to see how the holes do. (If it fails, I can make another, and this one is a learning effort).

Heh, well, I didn't post the two failed efforts that went into the scrap bin. The first one was misshapen, and the second looked really good... until you actually tried to use it, because I screwed up and managed to arrange card slots so that it was unfoldable when you had cards in it. This is the first wallet I've made, on my third attempt.

I'm still very, /very/ new to leatherworking, and learning the basics. But my old wallet gave out, so I thought making a wallet would be a good project. Notwithstanding the fact that I can see all sorts of places where I screwed up, I'm still fairly proud of the thing. Designed the pattern from scratch.

New poster here from Alberta, Canada. Not too long ago I was running a booth at a gun show and my booth happened to be next to the Tandy Leather booth. They talked me into getting a couple of the kit sets and some starter leather, I've been dabbling around, and so here I am. Very, very new to this, and mostly focusing on utilitarian stuff thus far. My initial efforts have mostly been for goofing off--I made a holster for an airsoft gun and a knife sheath for a rubber training knife (also for airsoft purposes). Still very much learning, and still picking up gear/equipment. That said, I'm enjoying the hobby thus far and intend to stick with it. I've already got plans for some more ambitious projects that I'm working up to. Anyway, I look forward to learning with all of you.
