  1. Thanks for writing all this...got a 143w1 recently with both a knee lift AND the foot pedal installed, but the chain is off the foot pedal and I'm not sure how to attach it to get the motion that I want! The knee lift works fine, but might like the other better. Also have a 111w and will look for that part number someone mentioned to extend the presser arm...! Great forum, thanks for all the contributions!
  2. I can't at the moment, but I will try to describe....at the juncture of the corner there will always be "tufts" of leather, which I have been trying to go in and clean up with a craft knife, which in turn creates more lumps, or tufts, like I haven't completely cut the leather in the corner, and have kind of pulled that last little bit by hand....bcs with the rotary cutter, etc, I would try to clean it up and kept going deeper and deeper...they look raggedy....
  3. Hi, I am a total newcomer to leatherwork. I have a Singer 111w and a Chinese shoe-patcher, no problems with either. My question is whether or not there is a way to avoid the presser foot tooth marks on leather items? are there smoother feet sold, or could you file some of the sharpness off a spare set, and the pressure alone would be enough to move items sewn? Also, I have been teaching myself via YouTube and books how to make leather pouches (I am using 6 oz. leather)...but after trying to use a box cutter, a rotary cutter, and scissors...I can't get clean cuts, particularly in corners. What do you do about that? - Thanks for any help~!
  4. Hi, I recently got a Singer 111wsv63 and am getting additional feet for it, etc. I thought it was a special variance of a 111w155, but it is quite different from the 152-155 manual I purchased...it has no "viewing window" for stitch length, it has 3 plunger-type buttons in the bed (I know one must be for stitch length...), and it lacks a large vertical bar underneath that bisects the machine, some kind of arm. In all other respects it is a 111w155, or Wxxx whatever. Does anyone know anything about these machines? It sounded like a 100 to me, but the 100 I saw pictures of lacked the extra plunger buttons...and had that arm underneath. Thanks for any help...
