1. That is awesome looking. I'm still working on getting up the guts to actually use my sewing machine!
2. Landis 20 pics are attached. Also checked out and skiver sharpened by my Landis guy.
3. ANy chance you could post a picture of bobbin and shuttle. I can't find any pictures of that part of the machine. Also I have no idea what a waxpot is. Is that like the oil cup on my industrial sewing machine? Where is it located when it is present. Thanks for the info. I lost out on 2 Singer 7-34's today.
4. I have a Landis 5and 1 for sale. It has a BRAND NEW Original Landis blade installed. Also the skiving blade was just sharpened. It was also checked out by my local Landis expert when he installed the new blade for me.

Price is $575 plus actual shipping. The unit weighs about 45lbs and is already all packed and ready to ship. I also have 2 Model 20 strap cutters for sale. One is Landis. Other is American. Looking for $300 for these. They were also checked out and cleaned up by my Landis guy. He also sharpened the skiving blades. Einar
5. I may have an opportunity to purchase one of these. It doesn't appear to have the base and pedals - just the head. Can someone give me an estimate of the weight of the head? How hard are parts to find? Its supposed to be a machine that was being currently used rather than just sitting around so it sounds like it "working" What would be a reasonable price to pay? I'm not sure I would have a current use for it but if it cool and cheap I might buy it anyway! I put in a bid on a Bradbury Patcher (UK 1880s-1900) at a recent estate sale but I was not the winning bidder - bummer. Einar
6. Yes I do. My guess is that shipping to BC will be very expensive plus there will be import duties.
7. Ok.. Thanks for the reply. So I checked the rubber mallet and its a hard rubber but its also a light weight mallet - probably less than a pound. So I think what I should do is a) in the interim hit much harder and for the longer term purchase something heavier and harder. Sound right?
8. Hi, I spent approx $50 on a new Crafttool 1 1/2" Oblong punch recently. I tried to use it on 4-5oz leather and it wasn't punching through at all. I was using a rubber mallet and I had some sole leather underneath and nothing. I switched to a small 3/8 hole punch and hit that (hard) with the same rubber mallet and it seemed to punch consistently. Oh - I did remember to remove the protective rubber coating from the oblong punch before using it. So should I just have hit the punch and leather harder? Is 4-5oz leather too thin for the punch? Help? E
9. The 5in1 is a separate thread in the same area. Its mistakenly titled 5AND1.
10. The machine is located in New York City and periodically I drive to both Boston and State College PA if either of those locations helps you.. You can see the 5in1 also just posted under the same area.

14. I don't suppose you still have the blade?
15. Bob, Thanks for the quick reply. Your recommendation of Joe Vais in NYC was very helpful. Been to him twice now. When I can afford your Servo Motor I'm going to buy it and replace the clutch motor on my LU 563. Did you do anything with the lot of 14 LU 563's in Dublin? I mentioned it to Joe. Here is the 29k172 sitting on the base with the motor inside. Ever seen this before? Any cautions? Price is $300. E
16. I'm wondering if the cast iron bases with treadle are interchangeable? Also have you head of a 29k172 with a clutch motor? This one was the handle wheel mounted on the front (in front of the model # tag) and the the pulleys mounted to the right of the machine going down in a what looks like the normal pattern. Einar
17. Brought a JUKI LU 563 and a Singer Patcher 29K58 to this guy in Brooklyn. He's store is just full of used Industrial machines. I had just purchased both machines without knowing the working condition of either one. Also I've never sewn on a machine before. He helped me while I was in the shop. Turned out the Juki was missing a number of parts - which he added for me. Then we attached the machine to the table (he told me that table was from a Singer 31 series and not for the Juki although it fits). He showed me how to thread it and oil it. He did the same for the Singer Patcher. I walked in with two non-functional machines and an hour and a half later with two functional machines and some training on how to use them. Total bill was cheap. Highly recommend this guy.
