Dying Leather and rawhide, making bags and pouches, hopefully holsters.
  • How did you find leatherworker.net?
Researchbing airbrushes and you were mentioned on a forum.
  1. I used a basic acrylic paint that I got from a local art supply store here in Omaha and painted a stencil of Kokopelli onto this 15" calfskin drum that I made a few weeks ago. It holds really well, I have used a beater on it several times with no flaking or peeling. I am working on more drums with a different type of steerhide and will post as I finish painting them.
  2. Would it be feasible to suspend a skull in a 5 gallon bucket by imbedding it face up in sand and apply your soaked leather over it and then Saran wrap over the leather and then fill the bucket with sand to force the leather to the skull/mold? I want to make a skull faced leather panel for a purse.
  3. This actually answered a question I had about expanding a pouch for more depth with the gussett. Thank you very much! 1st day and I'm already learning something important.
