  1. I normally make about a gallon at a time with the plastic jugs the white vinegar comes in. Since I have made it a few times, I took and punched holes in the old vinegar bottle tops and switch them out. The steel powder is working well from the tests I have done so far. It's much cleaner and has kept a black color instead of the muddy rust that steel wool makes. It a bit more expensive at $ for 100 grams but I'm happier with his clean it is and also it turns over in just a few days.
  2. Curerntly running experiments using iron powder vs steel wool to see if I get a cleaning dying process. Also the reaction does, create hydrogen gas so completely sealing the vessel from oxygen may lead to some explosive situations (more thinking that the container might rip open, not fireball) Wondering if a fermentation air lock might work well in this process
  3. I have been using it in the airbush, but recently heard it's quite caustic to do so.
  4. I actually do stage combat. So we do try to make the armor a little heavier to protect against accidents. Most of those heavier armor panels I was expecting to hand sew or rivet. I do a lot of pouches, leather doublets, and even bodices with 4 to 5 oz veg tan or some chap leather. I also use kip a lo t for accents. I love doing mixed hide stuff as I see few people doing it, as well a scrap coats. I may go up to a heavy grade machine later but right now I need something to get the labor intense sewing of pounchs down to something minimal.
  5. I have an1940s White for the fabric stuff. So I'm looking for a machine for pouches and clothing
  6. Heavy armor I rivet. More taking about 4 to 8 oz leather for pouchs and sword sheaths.
  7. I have a chace to pick up a Singer 29-4 but that doesn't seem good for what I am doing. I'm also looking at a Sailrite
  8. I mostly build for Renaissance faires and cosplay. Looking for some help in what I should pick up for my first machine. I would like to spend under $1000. I build out of many thickness but mostly in veg tan.
