  1. Hey everyone, i wanted to start making some leather journals and was wondering where some of you veterans get your paper? I want to do it completely from scratch and make my own signatures and what not so the paper would be loose and I would like an older rougher look to it. Thank you
  2. Ok great, thanks for the info guys. It is very appreciated
  3. Hey everyone, Im going to pick up my singer 111w153 on monday. I purchased it along with a servo motor and gear reducer, so i'm pretty excited to use it. I was going through the service manual online and it says to use type B or D oil. I found singer sewing machine oil on Amazon but nothing that is Type B or D. so, I was wondering what you guys use for your singer 111w's. Thanks!
  4. Awesome, that's very good to hear. I ended up purchasing it today along with a speed reducer to really dial it in. It should be here next week sometime. I'm pretty excited to try it out. Thank you for all the advice everyone!
  5. Thank you for the quick responses guys. I think I will probably go with this machine after getting your advice. Like I said most of my jobs are 1/4" or less of leaf oak veg tan leather so I think this machine will serve its purpose well. Thanks again!!!
  6. Hello everybody, It is time for me to make the next step in my leather work and buy a nice sewing machine. I found a used singer 111w with a Servpro motor and walking foot for a decent price. I just want to make sure it can handle the type of work I do. Does anyone know what thickness of leather this machine is able to handle? Most of the work I do is about 1/4" thick. Thank you!
