I've become a collector of sewing machines! LOL! I started out with a Montgomery Ward's Signature Zig-Zag in 1995. I now own five sewing machines including a Janome HD1000 and a Chinese Leather Patcher which I recently purchased.

My dream is to learn to make all kinds of shoes and slippers for my BIG WIDE FEET! I can't wear Flip-flops for the rest of my life.

I also want to learn to make my own bras but that's a topic for another forum. 

I've been an Old Timer since before I hit 1st grade, when I started learning to quilt and can and garden. 

I reckon shoemaking was just the obvious next step since I find it very difficult to find good women's 10WW shoes that are reasonably priced and not downright ugly or totally ridiculous!
