Hello.

I've been making hybrid IWB holsters with kydex and a leather backer for a few years as a hobby.  

I've been thinking about how practical leather working could be around the house and for more purposes than carrying my freedom cannons.   

Maybe you guys can help me understand the process,  how to source leather, the ups and downs and pitfalls of the skill.   

Since I only make things for myself I like to do them cost effectively even if it takes more time.   It cost me about 500$ in supplies to learn, screw up a ton, and eventually get to the point where my results use 30$ of material and yields a holster on par with Crossbreed and other similar vendors.  

So here I am exploring the economic feasibility of screwing up leather a bunch of times before I get acceptable results.
