  1. Does anyone know anything about a consew 200? Listed for sale around here but I can’t find any info on it. Thanks!
  2. Thanks everyone. Very helpful
  3. I've found on Craigslist both a Consew 226 and Consew 206 RB2. Both are about $200 with a table, lamp and clutch motor. (I would replace it with a servo.) Both have a walking -foot. I want to use it to sew belts, journals, bags, etc. Can anyone give me insight as to the difference in these two machines and which might be a better fit for my needs? Are either of these compound feed? Are the bobbin and thread size similar? What else should I be considering in looking for a machine to sew leather up to maybe 3/8" thick? Thank you!
  4. Hello! I'm new here but have already read a ton of wisdom on this site and learned a ton. Thank you! I'm a stay-at-home mom in Cebtral Ohio with a part-time beginning leather business (grown out of my cherished hobby) and looking to purchase my first walking foot machine. Searching local Craigslist for awhile has landed me on a few consew machines but I'm not sure what's best for me at this beginning stage. I want to sew leather belts, wallets, bags, etc. I don't forsee anything thicker than 1/4". The machines I'm trying to compare are: consew 226 with clutch motor consew 230 with clutch motor consew 210 consew 175 consew 2230-r I have sewn plenty so I'm not afraid of the clutch motor but perhaps it doesn't have enough power. I'm willing to upgrade a motor if the machine is exactly what I want. Anyone who can give me some wisdom, direction and maybe help eliminate some (or all?) to save me from a bad investment would be wonderful! Thank you!
