About Me
I'm a writer, mostly grants, copy, and editing. For the last 10 years, I've also made handbags from recycled leather and make repairs in biker leather jackets and chaps, as well as adding patches. I also sew bedding professionally and am constantly working on upholstery projects. I sew using old machines: a Singer 241-13, 281-13, and a walking foot machine, a Chandler DY337. I also use a Columbia overlock machine. I've always maintained them by trial and error (I've been lucky lots) and referencing manuals. A lot of what I've been able to accomplish and learn has been through the help of others. I always pay it forward!
My level of knowledge? I'd say I'm pretty adept with what I own. I lived in the South for over a decade and learned so many ways of doing things related to crafts and sewing that I've yet to see offered in any book or blog. However, I still run across many new ideas everyday. There is always something new to learn.
