  3. Hello guys. I bought this leather in Spain, the name is "Cuero engrasado" which could be translated to greased leather or something like that... The thing is, it is very suceptible to marks, the ones showed in the picture i made just with my nail and with very little pressure. I tried to protect it with water based laquer and horse grease, and there is almost no difference at all, it still get scratches easily. Is there any other way that could be used to protect it? Thanks!
  4. Hello guys. I`m trying to find out which kind of leather is this (The first two pieces, red and blue ones) https://youtu.be/1w1owMgRu6o The red and the blue one are items that i bought and the last one is a piece of veg tanned leather that i got in a shop in my city. As you can see, the leather is pretty malleable, the veg tan is a lot stiffer, i went with the red piece to all the shops that sells leather but no one have anything similar, so i will buy it online, but i don´t know which kind of leather to look/ask for. Any help is appreciated, thanks!!
  5. Thanks for the answers guys! The laser way looks really good, but as far as i can see, the machines are pretty expensive, starting from a couple thousands euros and up from there, out of my budget at this moment, but i will keep it in mind for the future. I already have the tool for pyrography, but i haven`t used it yet, so i will start looking some tutorials on it, and yeah, i will start with a los less complicated designs, maybe i could do just the tree and the starts. I will post some pictures of my results laters. Thanks again. Cheers!
  6. Hello guys, my name is Ivan, i`m new to the site and to work with leather, so i guess at the beginning i will ask a lot of questions... So far i been doing a few simple coasters and bookmarks for me and friends. Now i want to take it one step further and i would like to start adding designs to them, for example, something like this: Which options do i have? i think one option would be do a stamp with a 3D printer, but i don`t think it would be practical to do a new stamp for each thing i want to do or change Any ideas or links to tutorials to see where to start from will be welcomed Thanks. Cheers!
