Image too large?

I ended up getting the juki, it has a green table with a servo motor… probably paid a little more than its worth. But it works fine.

What were the changes?

Yep, Just Lu-1508 that is it. Do you know anything about that model? They want $450 for it.

I did see a Chinese clone machine being advertised awhile ago and on a quick look the name was in the same place and style as Juki but had I think added a letter to the name. I thought it was done that way to give someone the impression it wasn't a clone. The nameplate on a Juki will clearly show the model as "LU-1508N" or "LU-1508N*" * being another letter. Another thing is the letter could have been worn/rubbed off.

It is too good of condition to be worn off, it has no letter/letters behind the 1508 at all. Could it be a European model?

I AM LOOKING AT GETTING A JUKI 1508, BUT THERE ARE NO LETTERS AFTER THE 1508. LIKE 1508NS, 1508N, 1508NH, JUST 1508 DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT?

I bought a Thor 1541s... it sews 270 poly just fine.
-
The Juki 1541 lists 138 thread max, 1541 clones list 270 thread max.
-
Preference?
Some seem to have better features than the juki

I picked one up the other day, I am pleasantly surprised on how modern it feels for an older machine.
i am guessing is was made in the late 70’s?
anyone have one of these, thoughts about good and bad?…

Juki 1508 dropped while moving, the main shaft got pushed from right to left Approximately a quarter of an inch. Is there any way of fixing this?

7 minutes ago, Wizcrafts said:I currently use Family Sew FS-550 servo motors that I bought from Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines (now labeled FL-550). They are powerful and have a rotary switch that sets the top speed. This is really useful if you can't afford to make any stitch line mistakes by accidentally flooring the pedal. Both were specially retrofitted with very small pulleys that further reduce the top speed while multiplying the torque at all speeds. This is especially important if you dial down the max speed.
Previously, I used Sew Pro 500GR servo motors which were great. However, a few years ago, that Chinese company closed with no warning.
Thank you, it seams most servo motors are much the same with the exception of the high dollar ones?

I found a 1 1/4 inch binder w/Knurled presser feet for $21 bucks... works great no mods needed.
Thanks guys...

4 hours ago, R8R said:Well... let's start by asking if a 1508 is the best machine to do the binding you're planning to do. Also, describe the binding you're planning to do. Also, describe the 1-1/4 binding material, the thread, the type of material it will be attached to, the thickness, etc etc.
The 1508 might be the best thing ever for this application, or it might be a nightmare. Information will help to determine the outcome - until then your solution remains in a quantum state.
I am thinking a 1 1/4 one finished edge, with 92 poly thread, upholstery leather, Vinyl etc.
