About Me
Me? Well it is complicated; now 50 years old and in my 20th consecutive year of mid-life crisis!
My real job is as a facility manager which processes oil and gas at the Prudhoe Bay oilfield in Dead Horse, Alaska. Our facility seperates the oil, gas and water; reinjects the gas and water back into the formation, then ships the oil to the Trans-Alaska pipeline which transports it to Valdez for loading on ships. We work a two week on and two week off rotation and most of the "on" days are 14 to 16 hours "in the saddle" so to speak.
I have a home in Kenai, Alaska but spend most of the winter in south east Texas which is where I am from originally.
My leather craft intrest began when I was in high school well over 30 years ago. I started out with a "lucky seven" kit that had been my Dad's and I have been fooling with leather off and on every since. My son got me interested again after a long lay off when he built himself a custom seat for his Sportster not long ago.
The internet in general and this website specifically have made it far easier to learn about technique, tools, materials, and suppliers than it was years ago when I started this hobby. I sure am glad I found this site and really appreciate all of the input from it's members!
