  1. short version. What oil pump works best on a I a Consew 220 (no walking foot no reverse) at low speed? long version: i bought a Consew 220. Not the best but what it is what I have. I have added a brushless motor where i can set the max rpm. This is working well. I normally run at 500-700 rpm. It also has a slow ramp so the motor is working well. At the low rpm and slow speed i never see oil out of the top tube. it is getting a little tight some mornings. when i start for the day i max the rpm at 22000 and run it until i see oil, then let it run 2-3 minutes. then i drop speed to 500 and work. The oil pump oil pump is a Centrifugal pump. I am sure at low speed it just does not create the pressure needed i have googled for a gear pump, which should work at slow speed. Consew makes some, but i never see a picture to know if it will fit. does anyone know the part number that would work? or am i ok running it at high speed to oil in the morning? i usually take this time to wind an extra bobbin?
  2. I have a consew that i put a servo motor on and run at a max of 500 rpm fow slow speed work. i am not getting oil up to the top end to oil the mechanism. is there an adjustment ir differnt pump that works better at low speed? the pump now is a vein pump, i do not think i am spinning fast enough to create pressure. is there a gear driven pump?
  3. I WANT TO THANK EVERONE FOR THE REPLIES. It is a bottom feed, non walking foot. I suspect that the spring at the top tension is not set correct or is deformed, the thread does not seem to be pulling on it. I will look into that soon. I will also look at some of the mods that I have seen (here I think) and put a lager pulley on the machine. I have trouble controlling the speed of the machine, and do not want to sepd the money on a new motor. When I get back to it, I am also going to go through the machine and adjust it from scratch, there was a good video that I saw, if I can find it again.
  4. I have a consew (non walkingfoot) sewing machine. I am using 2100/3 polyester thread (and have tried other heavy duty threads as well) I have tried size 16 and 18 needles I am testing the machine before I start some leather work. I can sew 3 layers of canvas successfully at full speed as soon as I add a 4th layer the top thread frays and breaks. I can rotate the machine by hand and all is fine. If I sew very slow (I am still getting familure with the machine, and have trouble controlling the speed) the thread is fine If I get any speed at all, the thread breaks I am considering changing out the pulley on the machine to slow things down.
