  1. Can I adjust the speed or pressure of the foot pedal on my Singer 16-188? It goes from nothing to full speed ahead and there isn't a middle ground. If anyone has a suggestion on how to adjust it, I would greatly appreciate it.
  2. Thank you SOOOO much!!! It is stitching. Yay!!! I can't tell you how grateful I am for your suggestions. I corrected the needle position and adjusted the spring and I have stitches. I only have one more thing to fix and I think I am in good shape. There is not a middle speed. It either isn't moving at all or going like a jet. I hope if I shorten my belt some, that it will help with this. Any other suggestions?
  3. Thank you so much!!! Now that I have the threading correct, it still isnt stitching. It feeds the fabric through perfectly, but will not create a stitch. I worked on it for 3 hours doing different things and I can't figure it out.
  4. Thank you Billybopp. This is great.
  5. I recently bought a Singer 16-188. It was very dirty and I have replaced some parts, but it was a steal at $25.00. I am an experienced seamstress, so threading a machine isn't new to me, however, I am not sure I have this correct. I have searched and searched the internet for a diagram of how to thread this machine and I am still empty handed. When I try to sew with the machine after I have it threaded (at least my guess at threading), it won't stitch. It is connecting around the bobbin, so I don't really know what the issue is. If anyone has a diagram of how to properly thread this machine or has any idea of why it isn't stitching, I would really appreciate the input. Thank you!
