A friend just killed a massive rattlesnake that made it into their workshop. I offered to make a belt for them but have no idea how to prepare it. it has been skinned and is currently drying flat. What do I need to do to prepare it for belt making? Tan it? How? Descale it? How? Seal it? With what? Anything else?

Has anyone worked with StecksStore before? They came up in a search I was doing and based on their great prices and wide selection I was surprised that I had not heard of them before. I have some great sources for higher end/quality belt buckles, but for the project I'm currently working on I need to find a place to buy good basic, low priced buckles. Let me know your experience with StecksStore and if they are worth a try. Thanks!
